STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

Matt. 28:19, John 1:1, 14:26, and 15:26, 2 Cor. 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 John 5:20

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, fully inspired, and the infallible rule for faith and practice.

2 Tim. 3:16-17, Matt. 5:18, Is. 40:8, Heb. 4:12

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of His people; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Is. 6:3, John 3:16 and 14:13-14, Heb. 4:16, James 5:13-20, 1 John 1:9

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return to Earth.

Luke 1:26-38, Heb. 4:15, 1 John 2:1-2

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of all Biblical gifts of the Spirit.

John 14:15-18, 26, and 16:7-14, Rom. 12:3-8, 1 Cor. Chapters 12 and 14

We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. But because of God’s great love, He sent His son to die on the cross for our sins. God by His grace forgives and regenerates those who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. True faith produces repentance and a changed life by the power of the Holy Spirit. Repentance is turning away from the works of the flesh and walking in God’s Spirit. The main influence in our lives is now God’s word and His Holy Spirit. The result should be a life filled with love for God and love for people.

We believe that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and power for service, often, though not always, subsequent to regeneration.

Rom. 1:18-32, 3:23, 5:1, 6:23, and 8:1-2, John 1:12 and3:16, Acts 1:8, Eph. 2:8-9,

Gal. 5:16-26, Matt. 22:34-40, 1 Cor. 6:9-11

We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members.

Eph. 1:15-23 and 1 Cor. chapter 12

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe in baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers.

Matt. 26:26-28, Acts 2:36-39 and 8:26-39, 1 Cor. 10:16

We believe in the laying on of hands for the empowering of the Holy Spirit, for receiving gifts of the Spirit, for healing, and for recognition and commissioning of those whom God has ordained to lead and serve in the church.

Acts 6:1-6 and 28:8, 1 Tim. 4:14, 2 Tim. 1:6, James 5:14

We believe in the personal, visible and imminent return of Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in a bodily resurrection of the dead and that all will stand before Christ to be judged. Those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will spend eternity in the New Heaven and New Earth with God. Those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life will go to eternal punishment.
